There has been a great deal of press recently about President-Elect Donald Trump’s potential choices for his cabinet, as well as who he has been choosing to lead his transition team. The process has been full of surprises, such as when New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was ousted from the transition.
A great deal of focus has also been placed on South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy. After all, Gowdy’s long-running investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email crimes and her role in the Benghazi disaster were critical in getting the word out to voters just how deeply flawed a cndidate Hillary is. Many were wondering if Trump would reward Gowdy for his important investigation.
You’ll be pleased to hear that Donald Trump has officially welcomed Gowdy into his administration. Trump revealed that both Gowdy and fellow South Carolinian Senator Tim Scott would be joining Trump as part of his Presidential transition team.
Trey Gowdy will serve on the transition team’s twenty person executive committee, and Senator Scott will serve as vice chairman of the team.
Said Scott, “It is an honor to join Vice President-elect (Mike) Pence on the Presidential Transition Team, and I look forward to working with the co-chairs to help build an exceptional administration. I will continue to advocate for policies and people that will bring opportunity to every household across the country, and restore hope where it has been lost. I want to thank President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Pence for the chance to serve.” Are you excited?
