Throughout his presidency, Barack Hussein Obama has almost single-handedly ruined our close relationship with Israel. He made things even worse for us on Friday when he allowed the United Nations to condemn the West Bank settlers in a controversial vote.
Now, this move has come back to bite Obama in a big way.
The Daily Caller reported that Texas Senator Ted Cruz has called on Congress to stop funding United Nations operations until Friday’s controversial vote is reversed. The vote officially called Israeli settlements in “occupied Palestine” illegal, and demanded that Israel “immediately and completely cease all settlement activities.”
On Saturday night, Cruz personally called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to wish him a happy Chanukah, and to assure the leader that the United States Congress will work to reverse the decision.
Spoke w/ Israeli PM @netanyahu tonight to wish him Happy Chanukah & assure him of strong support in Congress. No US $ for UN until reversed.

Sen. Lindsey Graham has presented an initiative that would move to reduce the power of the UN, and this move is already being supported by Republican Sens. Marco Rubio, Tom Cotton, and James Lankford.
“I anticipate this vote will create a backlash in Congress against the United Nations,” Graham said. “The organization is increasingly viewed as anti-Semitic and seems to have lost all sense of proportionality. I will do everything in my power, working with the new administration and Congress, to leave no doubt about where America stands when it comes to the peace process and where we stand with the only true democracy in the Middle East.”
The vote could have been vetoed by an American vote, but Obama instead chose to abstain from voting and let the UN vote pass unchallenged. President-Elect Donald Trump immediately spoke out to slam him for this.
“As the United States has long maintained, peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians will only come through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through the imposition of terms by the United Nations. This puts Israel in a very poor negotiating position, and is extremely unfair to all Israelis,” Trump said in a statement.
