Democratic Congressman John Lewis, who represents inner city Atlanta, angered many when he recently tried to smear our 45th President Donald Trump by saying that he is somehow “not a legitimate President.” When Trump struck back at Lewis, Democrats tried to play it off as Trump being the aggressor.
Gingrich recently appeared on Sunday Morning Futures, and host Maria Bartiromo asked Newt about his take on the boycotting Democrats. Replied Gingrich, “The 70 Democrats who didn’t go to the inauguration were neither missed nor deeply regretted, and nobody, frankly, cared. And if they feel better about it, good for them.” Ouch!
Newt, who clearly knows a thing or two about Capitol Hill, also touched upon the disgusting delaying tactics used by Democrat Chuck Schumer to try to stall the confirmation of Trump’s cabinet picks. Said Gingrich, “What Schumer is doing is putting petty, negative, nasty politics ahead of the management of the federal government.”
He added, “The president has a right to have a cabinet to run the government, and I think people should come down on Schumer like a ton of bricks. I think, frankly, patriotic Democrats ought to be furious. This whole notion of ‘We’re just gonna screw you up to prove we can be partisan’ at the beginning of the administration, is the opposite of what Republicans did for President Obama in 2009.” Do you agree with Newt Gingrich?
