Trey Gowdy is a leading member of Congress and one of its top lawyers. On Fox News, he chimed in on Trump’s Executive Order temporarily banning visitors from some anti-USA countries in the Middle East
“His executive order is pretty easily remedied, and you can remedy it without going to the U.S. Supreme Court,” Gowdy said. He also went on to explain that he didn’t think the courts should be making national security decisions for our country. Amen to that, Mr Gowdy!
As you may recall, Trump enacted the travel ban to prevent potentially dangerous people from coming here to do us harm. A stay was enacted against the ban by a judge in the ridiculously liberal 9th Circuit Court. After losing an appeal to have the ban re-instated, the Trump administration decided to re-write the Executive Order (EO) rather than take the case to the Supreme Court.
Trump received a lot of criticism for the way the EO was written, but Gowdy indicated that he’s willing to cut the President some slack, “I’m prepared to give this president time,” Gowdy said. “He’s never served in the House, he’s never served in the Senate.”
