Bill O’Reilly, a TV host, was fired from Fox News. Many women filed complaints that he sexually harassed them and the network paid for the lawsuits. Because of the sexual harassment complaints, a lot of companies removed their advertisement from the network. Although Bill O’Reilly doesn’t admit that he is guilty, he went on vacation and he won’t come back to Fox News.
Today, the saddest news appeared everywhere that Fox News’ anchor Bill O’Reilly is leaving the network. Ever since New York Times report that Fox News spent $13 million on settling multiple lawsuits about sexual harassment with O’Reilly, he has been tied in a big controversy.
Actually, all of this only triggered number of advertisers to boycott the network, so they ended in a unexpected vacation and now, leaving of Bill O’Reilly from Fox News.
Everyone was surprised to hear this sad news, but it is what it is. Fans and viewer from all over America bombarded Twitter with supporting messages to Mr. O’Reilly, and public post of actual disgust of the situation.
Just few hours ago, NBC News took Twitter to publish Bill O’Reilly’s latest statement on his departure from the network.
Bill O’Reilly said in a statement:
“Over the past 20 year at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television. It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel.”
Why would a lot of women lie for sexual harassment? Although he used twitter to express his emotions, we do not believe him. A man who isn’t guilty would not pay for something he didn’t do.
