One of the demands of the U.S. citizens for Congres was to cancel their August recess until the finish of the Obamacare repeal vote.
Mitch McConnel R-KY – the Senate Majority Leader issued a statement in which he said that he is delaying the August recess for at least the next two weeks in order to allow Republicans to push for the replacement of Obamacare for an additional time.
Here is his statement:
Once the Senate completes its work on health care reform, we will turn to other important issues including the National Defense Authorization Act and the backlog of critical nominations that have been mindlessly stalled by Democrats.
From The Examiner:
Senator Mike Rounds, R-S.D. issued a statement in which he said:
Most of us are new, so we are very close to what people back home are telling us. And they expect results up here.
This maybe comes as a natural reaction after last Monday when President Trump wrote on his Twitter account:
“I cannot imagine that Congress would dare to leave Washington without a beautiful new HealthCare bill fully approved and ready to go!”
